Our Business Strategy Allows Your Business to Grow with Hudson

As a global provider of tendering and procurement solutions that aim to inspire all size businesses to adopt best practice, it’s important we have a solid business strategy. This business strategy will not only help Hudson grow further as a business but also for every company that interacts with us professionally.

Our business strategy focuses on client needs – we’ll try to invent new products, new services that will benefit our clients. We’ll always look into the future when getting started on new projects, understanding how our actions now will help predict trends in the future.

Rebranding Hudson

Towards the end of 2018, we decided that 2019 was the year for rebranding our business, something that had been in our business strategy for a while. Rebranding any business has to be clearly thought out.

We worked intensively with our in-house creative team, organising meetings and undergoing market research to see how we could develop our products to best aid our client base. We opted for a full rebrand of all our websites, including our portals.

Hudson Discover Rebrand

Our portals are the gateway to new contracts and opportunities for our customers. These portals are where they find all the up-to-date tenders which will directly apply to them. Creating a Discover Page was our first point of call. Our clients can visit this page and then select from there which portal their business best fits into, whether it’s Creative, Construction, Hospitality etc.

These portals are currently being redesigned, mainly to incorporate ease of access for clients operating the websites and also to ensure our brand is clearly presented across all of our sites. Creating a strong and relatable brand was really important to us and this was documented in our business strategy.

There comes a time when every business must rebrand – whether it’s because their branding or logos are out of date, or perhaps their websites need refreshing for usability, and importantly, readability.

Rebranding will be something that stays in our business strategy forever. It’s our promise to customers that we’ll have our finger on the pulse no matter if it’s implementing new technologies into our service offering (such as Artificial Intelligence or Virtual Reality) or ensuring we cater for multiple industries with our ten sector-specific portals.

We want to futureproof our business as much as possible but understand that times change, and new updates need to happen.

Hudson’s Growth

Our business is growing by the minute, which is absolutely great news for our business strategy. We’re already on track to reach our turnover for this year, which is an excellent start so early on in the financial year.

Hudson has grown considerably since launching our first portal, Creative Tenders back in 2016. After gaining nearly 100 customers only 8 weeks after launching, we put in place a wider strategy to incorporate our ideas for innovative expansion.

Our business strategy has changed since then, as we’ve now developed ten portals similar to Creative Tenders, covering a broad range of sectors. During this time, we’ve also gained an excellent team of bid management professionals who are integral cogs in our machine.

Grow with us!

We only choose highly professional individuals for our roles, making sure we choose people who can learn and grow with the business. We work to structured processes, encourage learning and development at all levels and adopt a Customer First approach to client management and this has been proved through our successful awards for Service Delivery.

As we’re expanding so rapidly, it means our employees have increased from just 13 to 20 in the first four months of 2019. We provide a great learning environment for our staff who work in small teams and feel supported in their positions.

We make sure they’re aware of their responsibilities as well as understanding their roles inside out and how they fit into the business strategy going forward. Being able to offer an increased number of roles has been great, and we’re still always on the lookout for professional individuals to join our team.

Part of our business strategy and rebranding has been the creation of Hudson Employ. This part of our site is dedicated to providing you with up-to-date positions we have available here at our Durham office in the North East.

At present we’re hiring for positions including:

  • Senior Bid Manager
  • Bid Manager
  • Bid Writer
  • Junior Bid Writer
  • Graphic Designer / Illustrator
  • User Experience Designer
  • Middleweight PHP Developer.

Business strategy for the future

Innovation is close to our hearts and we do everything possible to encourage creative thinking and idea creation. Our expectations continue to grow along with our success, and most recently our Group CEO, John Hudson, won Entrepreneur of the Year at the National Best New Business Awards 2019.

With a 200% increase in turnover in the last 2 years, we are on track to secure £1,000,000 by the end of 2019. Our business strategy for the future is very full, but also very structured. We’ve planned everything out year by year, ensuring we understand what aims to push for each month within that year.

Moving office

One of our current main focus is moving office, which we’re hoping to complete at the end of April this year. Moving premises has been in our business strategy for a few months now, however, this was something that needed to be carefully planned and thought out.

We have been property searching for some time, ensuring we find the right office for our staff to move into. In the new office, we want to create an open and creative space, making sure our Creative Team have space for videography. After months of searching, we finally found a space that works for us.

With the inevitability being that we will be doubling our current workforce, we needed an office that would fit these requirements. We’ve ensured we have sourced enough space for the business to grow in, and enough room to carry out innovative discussions as a team.

New products and ventures

In future endeavours, we’ll be applying ourselves to launching new parts of the business, for example, last month we launched Hudson Procure. These ventures are not the end point for our digital innovation – we want to strive forward in creating great products that apply directly to our client base, making sure we retain as many clients as we can.

Something we’re looking into more in 2019 is the possibility of opening an office in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The American market is something we want to explore, as we’re already making waves in the UK with our excellent service offering.

We want to change the procurement market for the better, making tendering a clearer and more transparent industry for all businesses, whether buyers or suppliers, SME or larger corporation. Boston seems an excellent choice, being a great hub for business and a short plane ride from New York.

With offices in Durham, Manchester and London already, we have big goals for the next few years. Our business strategy is something we’re constantly updating, dependant on the current market and trends. We’re keeping up to date with developments in the procurement world, ensuring we’re leading the way with services that better businesses and help them grow.
