Jill Hudson Wins Award for Innovation

We are thrilled to announce that our Founder and Managing Director, Jill Hudson, was a winner at the North East Business Women of the Year Awards. Jill received the Innovation Award which was granted for demonstrating innovative business practices and ideas.

About Jill

Jill has spent the past 17 years working with both national and international businesses to help them meet their desired growth targets. Jill has previously worked with businesses in countries including:

• the United Kingdom,
• USA,
• India,
• Finland,
• South Africa,
• China
• and Germany, to name a few.

These projects have allowed Jill to work with businesses of varying sizes and in multiple industries. Predominantly, Jill’s expertise includes working with the creative, technology and facilities management industries.

This experience highlighted significant issues in the tendering and procurement processes to Jill. From here, Jill decided to pave the way for substantial changes in these systems.

The team at Hudson share a common goal. We are on a mission to create fairer and more transparent procurement processes in the UK. The first step in this process was to change the way businesses find new contract opportunities.

Innovative Tender Tracking

At Hudson, we are always testing and developing new methods to help businesses source and win work efficiently. Jill demonstrated to the North East Business Woman of the Year Awards how innovative these portals are by highlighting the Hudson human touch. We know that many tendering portals rely on algorithms to find new opportunities for their clients. We never rely on algorithms or CPV codes. At Hudson Discover, our team of Opportunity Trackers manually sources new tenders from thousands of buyers. We do this daily to ensure that our clients never miss new opportunities.

Accessible Bid Writing Support

After the success of the tendering portals, Jill began to work on helping our clients win the work they had found. Jill was focussed on extending the goal of fairness and transparency to this arm of the business also. In order to achieve this, Jill created six dedicated services. Each service was designed to help businesses of all sizes succeed – and Hudson Succeed was born.

RFP Ready

Our unique four-week programme was designed to help businesses who have never tendered for work before. During the programme, we create all the corporate literature that will be required when tendering for new contracts. This will include your policies, procedures and case studies etc.

RFP Writing

This is our ad-hoc service, developed to help businesses who need to respond to a tender but don’t have the resources in-house. As part of this service, our team will break down the specification, respond to the tender and submit the final documents on your behalf.

RFP Improvement

This service was developed specifically for business who are currently tendering for work but aren’t seeing success. We understand that this can be very frustrating and time-consuming. This service involves an in-depth analysis of previously submitted tender responses and a review of recommended improvements.

Tender Manager

Our fully outsourced tendering process. The service includes personalised opportunity tracking, tender writing, clarification question maintenance and submission management. The packages are completely bespoke to each business. A free consultation will always be arranged in the initial stages, to gauge the level of support required.

RFP Mentor

This is our guide and review service. After spending hours on a single bid, we know that small errors can easily be missed. We are your second pair of eyes. We will comb through your tender response and ensure you submit an error-free bid that perfectly answers the specification.

Tender VLE 

The UK’s first free learning platform of its kind. The platform consists of expert masterclasses, detailing various aspects of the tendering and procurement processes. Our most popular classes include ‘PQQ Basics’, ‘Evidence is Key’ and ‘To Bid or Not to Bid’.

Future Innovation

At the North East Business Women of the Year Awards, Jill demonstrated that Hudson’s innovative ideas show no signs of slowing down. As we move into 2020, we will be launching a 2.0 version of our Hudson Discover portals to make opportunity tracking even easier for our clients. With our internal Hudson Labs division, we will continue to develop new processes that incorporate AI and more robust features. This will help us achieve our goal – to create a level playing field in the procurement industry.
